

On 15 June 2010, the visiting Chinese Vice Premier Zhang Dejiang and the Greek Deputy Prime Minister, Theordoros Bangalos attended and witnessed the signing of a series of business collaboration agreements between China and Greece in the office of the Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Athens.
During the signing ceremony, Wang Xingru, Managing Director of COSCO Shipyard Group Co Ltd ("COSCO Shipyards") signed shipbuilding contracts for the building of 11 bulk carriers and MOUs for another 4 bulk vessels with his Greek counterparts. The ships, 4 of which are 82,000 dwt bulk carriers and 11 of which are 57,000 dwt bulk carriers, will be built by COSCO Shipyards subsidiaries in Dalian and Guangdong respectively.
The charter agreements for the long term charter of a number of bulk carriers as well as an MOU for joint-venture between COSBULK and Cardiff were signed by Mr. Xu Zunwu, Managing Director of COSCO Bulk Carriers Co Ltd and his Greek counterparts at the ceremony.
The signing was also attended and witnessed by some other senior officials from China and Greece, including the Chinese Minister of Transportation and Communications, Mr. Li Shenglin, and the Greek Minister for Economy, Competitiveness and Shipping, Ms. Luka Katseli.
Attending the signing ceremony also includes Xu Lirong, Vice President of COSCO Group, Xu Minjie, Managing Director of COSCO Pacific Ltd, Fu Haichao, President of COSCO Europe, Wang Haimin, General Manager of Transport Div of COSCO Group and COSCO's local representatives in Greece.
