COSCO (Hong Kong) Shipping Co.,Ltd.(CHS) was established in 1996 by combining the former Ocean Tramping Co., Ltd. (founded in 1957) and Yick Fung Shipping and Enterprise Co., Ltd. (founded in 1960) .As one of the largest dry bulk shipping companies in the world, CHS is one of the major members in some important maritime organizations such as the Shipowner?s Association of Hong Kong (HKSOA), the International Association of Dry Cargo Shipowners (INTERCARGO) and the Baltic and International Maritime Council (BIMCO).In 2003, COSCO decided to reconsolidate CHS and COSCO Shenzhen to establish a new COSCO (H.K.) Shipping Co., Ltd. Its headquarter and operation center are located in Hong Kong and its management center is located in Shenzhen.

CHS currently manages and operates about 100 vessels, aggregating to approximately 5 million DWT and consisting of Handysize, Panamax and Capesize when it comes to size range. It is the largest dry bulk shipping company in Hong Kong and ranks the third largest dry bulk shipping company in the world.
