COSCO's land companies directly employ security guards or through the security guard service agencies. All security guards have been trained and obtained the certificate before official service. In some companies, the internal employees may act as the security guards. All shipping companies of COSCO Group own 3,346 security guards, including 26 for companies and 3,320 for ships.

COSCO trained the above security guards on human rights an related knowledge and supervises their work performance for evaluation. All security guards of companies and ships have received professional training and obtained the Certificate of Company Security Guard, Certificate of Security Guard for International Ships or Certification of Security Guard Training.
