| COSCO Group offers industry-competitive paid vacation and sanitarium system. A newly married employee can enjoy 3-day holiday, and an employee who marries at a mature age will enjoy 10-day holiday. An employee will have 3-day holiday to arrange the funeral if his or her parent, mate or child passes away.An employee whose mate lives in a different place will enjoy 30-day family visiting holiday each year. |

| An employee whose parents live in a different place will enjoy 20-day family visiting holiday each year (married employee will enjoy 20-day holiday per 4 years). In addition to public festivals and holidays, the group offers different types of paid vacation for those employees who have continuously worked for over one year. An employee who has worked less than 5 years will enjoy 5 days of paid vacation; an employee who has worked for 5-10 years will enjoy 10 days of paid vacation; an employee who has worked for over 10 years will enjoy 15 days of paid vacation; and an employee who has worked for over 15 years will enjoy 20 days of paid vacation. |
| ■ Insurance for employees |
In strict appliance with the requirements of the nation's related laws and codes, COSCO Group has established social insurance system for employees, covering pension, medical care, workplace safety insurance, birth insurance, unemployment insurance, and housing accumulation fund. In the light of related documents of the nation, COSCO has joined the social insurance in Beijing to ensure employees' legal rights and interests. Currently a total of 235 subsidiaries of the group have participated the insurance, with the insurance ratio 100%. According to the standard and requirement in Beijing, the group has established complementary medical care, and added accidental insurance of industrial injury. Currently, COSCO is propelling the establishment of the enterprise annuity, with specific implementation proposals submitted to superior authorities for approval.
COSCO's pension insurance completely conforms to the related national and local policies, establishing the pension insurance for employees based on the adequate protection of employees' rights and interests. The premiums are paid by the enterprise and the employees; the pension is paid to retirees according to the national and local policies in full amount as scheduled to fully safeguard the legal rights and interest of the enterprise employees.

| COSCO and all its 2nd-tier subsidiaries actively strengthen the construction of the cultural and sports associations in order to meet the employees' needs for culture and sports while actively protecting the employees' rights of spiritual culture. To be specific, COSCO Group established 8 various health associations in 2005, which was increased to 10 in 2006. COSCO Dalian has established such associations for employees as sports association, stamp association, art association, culture association, literature fans association and pedestrianism association, which enriches the afterhours culture life of employees; COSCO Guangzhou set up the cultural and sports association in 1992; after over 10 years of development, now the cultural and sports association has 11 sub-associations covering stamp collection, photography, painting, literature, art performance, mountaineering and balls, giving sincere care to employees. COSCO Bulk implemented the regulated management over the sports games of employees and established the ball association for employees; the association formulates the articles and fixed management institution, including football team, basketball team, badminton team, table tennis team, billiards teams and others; each team has its own head to organize the routine exercising and competition. |

| For each employee's birthday, COSCO Group will send birthday bonus and card to express the organization's care for employees. COSCO's all shipping companies have established the crew family connecting networks and increased the intensity of the family connecting networks. Now the whole group has 270 crew family networks, which consolidates and develops the platform of self management, self service and mutual help for crew families, enables the crew families far from the headquarters can get timely helps and solve the crew's worries about their families. In 2006, COSCO Group held the 6th Commending Conference for Outstanding Crew Families and Crew Family Workers in Chengdu, in recognition of the good performance of excellent crew families and excellent stationmasters of the crew family network stations. COSCO holds the meeting of stationmasters of family connecting network stations at least once a year to timely understand and solve the difficulties for employees.
