　 (including degree and scope) — COSCO's technology R&D and achievements
COSCO has made active efforts in welcoming economic globalization and global informatization. It has increased its inputs into informatization construction of enterprises and enhanced the supporting functions to corporate competitiveness. In 2006, COSCO made its long-term progress in information construction. COSCO Container Liner, COSCO Bulk Carrier and COSCO Guangzhou were appraised as top 500 for informatization of Chinese enterprises. COSCO headquarters ranked the fourth place and won the "Group Informatization Achievement Award" and "Informatization Achievement Award". Capt. Wei Jiafu won the honorable title of "Outstanding Character in Promoting Informatization of Chinese Enterprises" and gave a speech at the event on behalf of winners of the award.
Aforesaid scientific research and information inputs of COSCO, especially inputs in global ocean shipping system, have great economical influences on ocean shipping industry. It improves the efficiency, brings benefits to cargo owners, improves services and brings economical benefits.
