■COSCO conferred the Green Flag Award of Long Beach for environmental
protection for 2 years in a row |
| COSCO actively responds and fully supports the green port program of US-based Long Beach for environmental protection, winning the Green Flag Award for two consecutive years. In 2006, the success rate of COSCO's 13 vessels was 100%, winning 13 environmental protection flags; the success rate of all called ships reached 92%, which was highly recognized by the Port of Long Leach. |

| ■ President Wei Jiafu wins Job Creation Award by International Longshoreman Association |
| Invited by Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick, Capt. Wei Jiafu of COSCO received the Job Creation Award presented by International Longshoreman Association in the Massachusetts State House, Boston. It is said to be the first time for the State House to host such an event for a foreign company. Senator Kennedy expressed in his speech that the calling of COSCO has revitalized the Port Boston and the historic partnership with COSCO is bringing new vitality to Sino-US trading relationship with China; China recently has been well cooperating with US on many international issues, and COSCO's calling is beneficial to Massachusetts, to the US and to the long-term cooperation with China. |

■COSCO Americas Inc. won the New Jersey Smart Workplaces Gold Award in 2007 presented by the
New Jersey Government |
The awarding certificate was co-signed by New Jersey's Governor Jon S. Corzine and New Jersey's Department of Transportation Commissioner Kris Kolluri, in a move to encourage those employers who make contributions to advocating the environmental protection and provide convenience for employees for car pooling and public transportation tools.
COSCO Americas, Inc. has been following COSCO Group's strategy to be a global corporate citizen by engaging and promoting social responsibilities, and has adopted a series of measures to carry out the environmental protection proposals of New Jersey government. COSCO Americas also invited New Jersey Department of Transport to set up a stand in the lobby of its building to promote the use of public transportation and carpooling and detail the public transportation network and the preferential tax policies in New Jersey for employees, which was welcomed by employees and established COSCO's image of environmental protection. COSCO Americas has different time schemes for coming to work, leaving the office, and going to lunch, which not only ensures the work order but also ease the traffic pressure.
